This tonalist landscape with Mount Monadnock in southern New Hampshire behind silhouetted trees and the late day sun was painted by contemporary American artist Erick Ingraham (1950-). Ingraham was born in Philadelphia, PA and became a well-established Monadnock region artist in New Hampshire, not only for his children's book illustrations, but for his detailed landscapes as well. He is now a resident of Colorado. Oil on panel, signed lower right, titled on verso label “Shrouded Monadnock,” and housed in a beautiful custom Tabernacle wooden frame with gilt inset. Dimensions: 13 1/2” h x 9” w, actual; 16 1/4” h x 17” w, framed.
