An exceptional and rare English burled walnut veneered and inlaid tall case clock by William Webster with 30 day brass movement. The silvered dial engraved “Wm Webster, Exchange Alley, London”.
The tall clock is in excellent working condition and has been professionally conserved. Minor imperfections and minimal expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 90 1/2" h x 20 3/4" w x 10 1/2" d.
William Webster was an accomplished clockmaker, having apprenticed under Thomas Tompion, and began his own clock making business in 1711 at the Exchange Alley in London, and the business has passed from father to son for over 200 years.
