This modernist watercolor of a Bermuda harbor was painted by English painter Alfred Birdsey (1912-1996). Birdsey was born in England and began his self-taught painting career in 1927 at the age of 16, becoming one of the only modernist painters residing in Bermuda for the second half of the 20th century. Watercolor on paper, signed lower right, and housed under glass in a simple black molded wooden frame. Dimensions: 16 ½” h x 39” w, sight; 18 ½” h x 41” w, framed.
