A wonderfully carved marble bust of a woman in profile, unsigned, attributed to American sculptor Richard Hamilton Park (aka Richard Henry Park) (1832-1902). Park was born in New York City and went on to become well known in New York and Florence, Italy for his Neoclassical portrait busts and allegorical stone cut sculpture. His work can be found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum. This bust is mounted under glass in a black painted wooden oval frame with white highlight and gilt accents.Excellent overall condition, with minor imperfections and minimal gilt losses. Dimensions: 12” h x 10” w, actual; 22” h x 18” w x 4” d, framed.
