A spectacular custom-made satinwood serpentine cabinet or server in the Adam Style. The serpentine top with conforming, fitted long drawer centered by scrolling marquetry above a pair of blind doors with geometric veneers and inlaid urn that open to reveal shelves. Silvered drawer pulls and hinges. Stamped with SK mark on verso top edge. Schmieg & Kotzian, Inc., designers and cabinet makers, represented the union of two families who brought the fine art and craftsmanship of Old World cabinet making from England to America, crafting custom fine furniture in New York until 1962. This cabinet or server is excellent overall condition, with minor imperfections and minimal expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 34 1/2" h x 42" w x 22" d.
