This well done watercolor landscape with cattle or cows near the river was painted by UK artist Charles Frederick Buckley (1812-1869). Buckley was born in Cork, Ireland, later relocating to London, where he became known for his oil and watercolor landscape and figure paintings throughout the United Kingdom, exhibiting at the Suffolk Street Galleries of the Royal Society of British Artists from 1841-1869. Examples of his works can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others. Watercolor on paper, signed and dated 1859 lower left, double matted and framed under glass in a giltwood frame, with some edge losses.
