This nice patinated bronze of a dog resting on a sofa was done by American sculptor Kay Worden (1925-2015). Worden was born in New York City and was raised in California, later moved to the Boston area (Jamestown, Rhode Island) where she became known for her bronze sculptures, which can be found in the Jamestown and Newport RI area, including her most famous work “The Wave” in Newport. She was also known as a social activist, and was honored at the White House in 1968 by Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson as a “Woman Doer.” This cast bronze is signed and dated 1989 on verso. Dimensions: 3” h x 8 ½” w x 4 ¼” d. Includes two Kay Worden exhibition booklets.
