A magnificent French, Victorian patinated bronze figural floor candelabra in the form of a near lifesize robed maiden with an upstretched arm holding an urn and a thirteen branch candelabra as well as a garland of flowers. The candelabra itself has three downpointing, nine uppointing branches or arms with leaf decoration and one central light. The base of the figure shows a plate which reads “Fourment Houille Val D’Osne”. Val D’Osne was a French art foundry created in 1835 by Jean Pierre Victor André, inventor of ornamental cast iron. A truly extraordinary floor candelabra. Supported by a 22” custom bronze base with round top and bottom and three supporting legs. Electrified, but needs to be rewired. Good overall condition, with some repairs and restorations to the candelabra arms, along with other imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 93" h overall x 27" in diameter.
