A nice example of a wooden hand carved female fertility figure with detailed beadwork on the head, cowry shell eyes, additional bead strings around the neck and waist, and geometric paint decoration on the headpiece and base. A beadwork figure of a serpent or snake appears on the headpiece. West Africa tribal folk art that probably dates to the 20th century. Very good overall condition, with some minor imperfections and expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 20” h x 7 3/4” w x 3” d.
