This attractive red toned abstract oil painting was done by Vermont artist and activist Lois Foley (1936-2000). Foley was born in Groton, Vermont, and lived on a 360 acre farm in Essex Center, where she became well known for her abstract painting, as well as nude figuration and her masterful wood block prints. Oil on canvas, lower right, and housed in a black wooden frame, with some wear. Dimensions: 28” h x 40” w, actual; 28 1/2” h x 40 3/8” w, framed. Provenance: Acquired from the artist’s estate.
