Pair of Cast Iron Duck Andirons - Liberty Foundry, St. Louis MO circa 1930
A nice pair of black cast iron duck andirons, embossed with Liberty FDY, St. Louis MO inside each duck, and on each dog, as well as an illegible company name & Needham, Mass, stamped on the bottom edge of the back of each duck figure. The Needham Mass stamp could possibly be Richard F.H. Clancey, a small foundry in Needham that was known for their figural andiron production. Liberty Foundry was established in St. Louis, MO in 1906 and was just recently sold to another firm in the early 2000’s. Excellent overall condition, with minor imperfections and expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: Each are 11 ¼” h x 14 ½” w x 13” d.
