This is a fantastic livery stable trade sign oil on canvas inside a wooden demi-lune black painted frame, with the head of a horse in its bridle, possibly a Lippet Morgan, signed lower right “Denehey”. Foam board was added to the back at a later date to protect the canvas. We believe the sign dates to the 19th century. The frame is in good condition, with several losses along the back edge and expected wear from age and use. A nice addition to your equine or trade sign advertising collection. Dimensions: 22” h x 39 ¾” w, actual; 23 ⅜” h x 50 ½” w x 2 ¼” d, framed.
