This nicely done oil painting was painted by American artist Harry Shokler (1896-1978). Shokler was born in Cincinnati, OH and was active artist and pioneer in silk screen and serigraphy in New York, a fellow of the MacDowell colony in New Hampshire. He became known for his townscapes and seascapes, as well as his serigraphs. Oil on panel, signed and dated ‘26 lower right, titled on front plaque "Provincetown Docks" and housed in a giltwood frame. Dimensions: 13” h x 16” w, actual; 20 ¾” h x 23 ¾” w, framed.
