This nice early modernist still life was done by Russian / American artist Dimitri Romanovsky (Romanovski) (1887-1971). Romanovsky was a Southern Russian born artist who lived and worked in New York. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, titled and illegibly dated on verso upper stretcher pencil inscription “Iris” with his Broadway studio address, and framed in a wooden frame with partially white painted inset. Probably dating to the 1920’s or 30’s. Dimensions: 16” h x 22” w, actual; 22” h x 18” w, framed.
