A wonderful rare signed interior black and white photograph by Charles Henry Sawyer (1868-1954) titled “Pilgrim Mothers,” showing two Pilgrim mothers in front of the hearth. Sawyer lived in Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire, and originally worked for Wallace Nutting, later becoming his competitor, opening his own successful Sawyer Picture Company in Concord, NH, where he thrived selling hand colored photographs of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This photograph is signed lower right, unframed, and is in very good condition, with slight curl and light oxidation, as well as a partial surface protective coating or shellac visible in spots.. Dimensions: 9 ⅞” h x 7 ⅞” w, actual. Please see our other Sawyer photograph listed and save on combined shipping.
