A nice pair of humorous hand colored English hunting scene prints, probably dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, taken from from a copy of an 1856 book "Mr. Sponge’s Sporting Tour" by Robert Smith Surtees (1805 – 1864) and illustrated by John Leech. Leech was a renowned English caricaturist and illustrator. The top print is titled “Mr. Sponge Arrives at Sir ‘Arry’s,” and the bottom print is titled “One of Multum in Parvo’s’ going days,” each with page references in the lower right. Each print is matted and framed under glass in a simple black wooden frame, in good condition, with some slight rippling and discoloring on both, and light creases visible on the lower print.Dimensions: 5” h x 7” w, sight; 21 ⅛” h x 14 ⅛” w, framed.
