This beautiful oil painting landscape of an old road through the woods is unsigned, attributed to American White Mountain artist Benjamin Crackbone Champney (1817-1907). Champney was born in New Ipswich, New Hampshire and has been considered to be the founder of the White Mountain School, becoming very well known for his White Mountain landscapes. This painting depicts an old road through the woods with a man leading several cattle. Oil on canvas, unsigned, and housed in an antique gilt gold frame.
