A fine example of a Philadelphia Queen Anne Walnut Side Chair, circa 1755, probably the workshop of William Savery. Incised cupid's bow crest above a solid vasiform splat and trapezoidal slip seat supported by cabriole legs terminating in trifid feet. Nice overall patina. Minor restoration at crest. The seat construction is very similar to the Lippincott/Smith family labeled Savery. Excellent overall condition, with minor expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 39" h x 21" x 18" d, with 18" seat height. Provenance: The Eliot and Ruth Herman Collection.
