This impressionist oil painting landscape with two people under an orchard tree was done by American artist John Fulton Folinsbee (1892-1972). Folinsbee was born in Buffalo, New York, spending much of his life in the New Hope, Pennsylvania area, becoming well known for his impressionist landscape paintings and later in life, industrial street genre paintings. Oil on panel, signed lower right, titled on verso label inscription “In the Orchard,” and housed in a new carved giltwood frame. Dimensions: 8 ¼” h x 10 ⅜” w, actual; 14 3/8” h x 16 3/8 ” w, framed.
