This fabulous Revolutionary War shadowbox consists of 4 19th c antique historical prints: 1) Upper left: This print reads Engraved by B.B. Hall, titled Washington, Lafayette, & Greene; 2) Upper right: This print reads Engr. by R. Thew, titled Battle of Princeton_Death of Mercer; 3) Lower left: This print reads Engraved at JM Butler’s Establishment 84 Chesnut St by J. McGoffin from an original drawing by C. Schuessele, titled Battle of Trenton, NY, G.P.Putnam & Co., Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1857 by G.P. Putnam & Co. in the clerk’s office of the district court of the United States in & for the eastern district of Pennsylvania; 4) Lower right: This print reads Engraved by G. Illman at JM Butler’s Establishment 84 Chesnut St from a drawing by C. Schuessele, titled Battle of Germantown (Chew’s House). In the center are six lead soldiers, three British and three Colonial, facing each other. The shadowbox is nicely matted and framed under glass in a black painted wooden frame. Dimensions: 17” h x 19 ¼” x 1 ⅝” d. A nice addition to your U.S. Revolutionary War collection!
