20th c Sprague - General Electric Trolley Car Controller
This is a controller unit for a trolley car from Sprague - General Electric, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The metal label on the outside case reads “General Electric Company, Manufacturers, Sprague - General Electric Multiple Unit System Type M Form C J135 Controller, Schenectady, NY, USA”. The end of the controller reads “General Electric Co. C_____ controller No 360790” embossed. This unit was probably used in the Boston, MA area. A great piece of transportation history! It appears to be in good condition, with expected surface wear and light rust from age and use. Dimensions: 38”” h x 12” w x 6 ½” d.
