A nice example of a Parthian terracotta reclining mother goddess wearing a headdress and necklace, circa 2nd century AD. Reclining humanistic figures first appear in Parthia after Greek influence spreads through the Near East starting with the campaigns of Alexander the Great. Very good condition, with a chip on the headdress and light wear overall. Dimensions: Approximately 4” h x 3 ¾” w x 1” d and includes the museum quality display stand.
Featuring period furniture, fine art, quality porcelain, silver and decorative accessories.
