This beautiful polychrome sampler was hand wrought by Frances Williams, finished Oct 1, 1842, depicting border blooming flowers (possibly roses) , partial and complete upper case alphabets, a partial lower case alphabet, partial number sequence, and reads “When bright youth shall be no more, and age shall chill my blood, may I review my life and say, that all my works were good, Frances Williams, Mt. Vernon, Oct.1, 1842”. Framed under glass in a stunning wood frame. Excellent condition, with slight discoloring in spots and slight fading overall. Dimensions: 17 ¼” h x 16 ¾” w, sight; 21 ½” h x 21” w, framed.
