This harbor scene pastel was done by Russian / American artist Joseph Kaplan (1900-1982). Kaplan was born in Minsk, Russia, emigrated to the United States, and lived both in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and New York City, where he became well known for his abstracts and mod harbor scenes and landscapes, as well as a curator for numerous exhibitions for various art museums. Pastel on paper, signed lower left, matted and framed under glass in a silver painted wooden frame. Dimensions: 11” h x 17” w, sight; 19 ¾” h x 25 ¼” w, framed.
