This fine interior oil painting of children helping mother in the kitchen was painted by French artist Paul Guillaume Seignac (1826-1904). Seignac was born in Bordeaux, France, and after studying art in Paris, lived in Ecouen outside Paris in an art colony along with artist Edouard Frere. He became well known for his genre painting of rural scenes and children. Oil on mahogany panel, signed lower left, and housed in period gold frame. Dimensions: 16" h x 12 ½" w, actual; 21 ⅝" h x 17 ¾" w, framed.
