Amazing photograph by American photographer, inventor and MIT professor of Electrical Engineering Harold Edgerton (1903-1990) titled "Bullet Through King, 1964". Signed, Type C print, printed on Kodak paper and nicely matted. Dimensions: 14.75" x 18.5" sight; 20" x 24" mat size.
Edgerton is best known for his development and perfection of the stroboscope or strobe light, which not only has practical engineering applications but also produces breathtaking imagery. Edgerton joined with Jacques Cousteau in underwater exploration, producing the first underwater time-lapse photography (1968) and inventing sonar devices that analyzed the rock of the seabed (1960) and gave a seismic profile of the sea floor (1961).
