This wonderful oil painting was done by American artist James Gale Tyler (1855-1931). Tyler was born in Oswego, New York and lived in the New York/ Connecticut area, where he became well known for his marine paintings. Oil on canvas, relined, with a photocopy of a canvas stamp with "J.G. Tyler" inscribed on verso. The painting is housed in a newer gold frame. Dimensions: 25" h x 30" w, actual; 40"h x 34 ¾" w, framed.
