This serene watercolor of a woman reading a letter was painted by American/Danish artist Karl Larsen (1897-1977). Larsen was born in Denmark and came to New York, and eventually Detroit, Michigan, where he became a member of the Scarab Club, a Detroit artist group (see photo of biography/exhibition label on verso). Watercolor on paper, signed lower right and dated '86, double-matted and framed under glass in simple wooden frame, some losses on the corner of the frame. Dimensions: 14 ½" h x 17 ½", sight; 22" h x 25" w, framed.
