Wonderful Copeland Spode commemorative "Chicago Pitcher" released in conjunction with The Columbian Exposition 1893, also known as the Chicago World's Fair. Designed by Frank E. Burley of Burley & Co., State Street Chicago. Encircling the pitcher are depictions of Chicago landmarks and events including The Great Fire of 1871 and Athena in front of the Palace of Fine Arts on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive. Incised "COPELAND ENGLAND" at base and transfer print label that reads: "Chicago Pitcher designed by Frank E. Burley Edition Deluxe Burley & Co. Chicago No. 303 Copeland Late Spode England". In very good overall condition. 8"H x 7"D.
