This oil on canvas of a flower lined walkway was painted by American artist Clara D. (Simpson ) Davidson (1874-1962). She was born in St. Louis, Missouri and worked in Connecticut, where she became known as an illustrator for Saturday Evening Post, specializing in female figures and commercial art. Oil on canvas, unsigned, estate stamp on verso, in a custom black wood frame with white gold leaf accent on the inside custom made by Troy Strafford Frame Makers. Dimensions: 19 7/8” h x 16” w, actual; 29 ½” h x 25 ½” w, framed.
