19th c. Secretaire Abbatant
Early 19th century mahogany French Empire Secretaire Abbatant. Ormolu mounts of classical motif: cherubs with sheep and grape clusters. Secretary features 3 original marble surfaces at top, middle, and bottom. Mirrored front pulls down to reveal leather covered desk surface and fitted interior. Bottom half of case features drawer and small semi-circular shelf. Condition is good with expected wear due to age: cracked and split leather, one loose column, mirror frame slightly loose, some nicks to marble, missing veneer on foot, and one missing drawer pull. Dimensions: 66" h x 37.25" w x 20" d (overall).
