A fine form pair of French Regence style carved walnut high back armchairs or fauteuils with foliate upholstery,nailwork finish, and complimenting foliate carved decoration on the shaped arms. The pair also features a scalloped skirt, short cabriole legs and X-form molded stretchers. The pair date to the 19th century and are in very good overall condition, with some wear to the finish, minor fade to the upholstery, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use.
