For your consideration are these interesting, long circa 1930s earrings. The tops are rounds - center is carved and bottoms remind me of peach pits. I did some inconspicuous testing on these earrings and determined they are plastic or lacquer. I believe these are cinnabar ...Cinnabar is the color; lacquer is the material from which the objects are carved. I did drag a cotton swab moistened with fingernail polish remover across a the side of one earring. Genuine lacquer will discolor the swab .. plastic is not affected. I have included a picture of the result. The first test I did was simichrome for bakelite and I got no reaction. This is a best guess based on my research and testing. At any rate these are great earrings with a great look. I believe they are mixed metal.
They measure an impressive 3 inches in length and a little over 5/8 inches across the bottom.
They are in great functioning condition,. Both top balls have a minor imperfection as shown but this is not a big deal.
