For your consideration is this great green onyx hinged bracelet and screw back earring set. The carved onyx has sterling bands inside the grooves of the onyx. Purchased by a neighbor's mother in the 1940s, this set has a thick and heavy patina and is expertly hand made. The marks are hard to read - the bracelet looks like Mexico sterling. The earrings look like Plata , Santoyo and other marks . All tested and guaranteed as sterling silver as is all my sterling except the actual earring hardware which was common to do.
The bracelet measures 5/8 inches across the widest points It measures 6 and 1/2 inches when clasped. The earring faces measure 7/8 inches by a hair over 3/8 inches.
The excellent condition with a fully functioning hardware and no dings or dents. I did notice some uneven patina and two tiny balls have darker spots but I examined with a loupe and these are not dents. One looks like patina and one part of the making - see last pic. White spots on onyx are camera glare.
I will be listing more of her Mexican jewelry that was purchased in the 1940s, please stop back.
