Dating to c.1800-1810, this delightful Regency-era ring is a wonderfully-wearable jewel in near-pristine condition!
Measuring 1/2" x 3/8" across the bezel, this lovely ring boasts brightly-foiled gemstones and genuine seed pearls set in 15k yellow gold (unmarked but tested)! This ring sums up all that is so wonderful about the jewelry of the first decade of the 19th century; it is set with genuine gemstones, it is beautifully-designed, and the tailored Neoclassical bezel transcends the whims of fashion!
The bezel of this jewel is set with a mixed-cut citrine measuring 8 mm x 4.5 mm, and weighing approx. 1.1 carats. Surrounding this honey-hued gem are a halo of 20 tiny, silvery-white natural seed pearls. To the left and right are set four flat-cut garnets measuring 2.3 mm each and weighing a total of 40 points.
All of the gemstones are original to the ring, and the citrine and garnets are set in rubbed-over, foil-backed collets of 15k yellow gold (unmarked but tested). As with many rings of this decade, the shank consists of a simple gold hoop. Best of all, this ring has survived 200+ years in all-original, untouched condition, and looks as bright today as when it was first worn by a lady of wealth and fashion during the Regency Era!
This ring is a size 5 1/2, but the plainness of the rear of the shank would allow for easy re-sizing by a good bench jeweler for little cost. Weighing in at 2.38 grams, this jewel really lights up on the hand, and WHAT a history! If you cherish the BEST in historic jewelry, this beautiful ring belongs on your hand and in your collection! It would also make a stellar gift for any lad fond of investment-worthy Georgian jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box. Do not miss this exquisite ring; up to 45-day layaway is available, and USPS Priority mail shipping is FREE!
