It may look like a Georgian jewel, but this large and stately ring is of late-Victorian origin, and looks nothing short of superb on the hand!
Measuring a regal 7/8" in diameter across the bezel, this museum-quality jewel boasts eight masterfully-cut and foiled vibrant pink pastes weighing approx. 4 "carats" each! All of the pastes are pave-set in rubbed-over, closed-backed, convex collets of sterling-grade silver. In the enter of the ring nests a small rose-gold flower-motif stud which gives the ring even more color and dimension!
The sterling silver shoulders of this delightful ring are forked, and taper back to a plain hoop shank. Best of all, this ring is in as fine a condition as the MOST discerning collector could hope for, with NO wear to the pastes and NO repairs or restorations to the setting! This ring would have originally adorned the hand of a lady or gentleman of fashion at the turn of the 20th-century; today, it makes a smashing right-hand ring for a lady who loves her antique jewelry to make a dramatic statement! This ring even boasts a fabulous age patina to the silver, but could easily be polished up to it's original shining glory if the new owner so desires. SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT!
Weighing in at 7.67 grams, this ring is a size 8, and the plainness of the rear of the shank would allow for easy re-sizing, but I strongly recommend that any sizing be done by laser, as heat would destroy the foils behind these splendid pastes. If you cherish the BEST in Victorian dress jewelry, this ring belongs on you hand and in your collection! It would also make a stellar holiday gift for any lady who treasures the finest in antique jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box.
