Dating to c.1960, this top-quality ring is a gorgeous example of mid-20th century estate jewelry, and is suitable for wear by either a lady or a gentleman!
As most of my clients know, I rarely deal in 20th-century jewelry, but this ring was calling my name, with its vibrant, deep forest green Colombian emerald and its rose-cut diamonds! Measuring 8 mm wide, the bezel of this handsomely-tailored ring boasts a natural emerald measuring 5 mm x 5 mm x 3.4 mm and weighing a calculated a calculated 55 points! This emerald is untreated, and displays a wonderful "jardin" under 5x magnification! The color is also second-to-none; this rich, forest-green comes straight from Mother Nature!
To either side of the emerald are set a "pyramid" of rose-cut diamonds, six on each side! These gems weigh approx. 2 points each, for a total weight of approx 1/4 carat. All of the gemstones are claw-set in white-gold topped 14k yellow gold, and all are original to the ring. As with the most artistic jewelry of the 1960s, the sides of the mounting are brushed, and the rear of the shank is plain polished gold. This ring also boasts a wonderful Retro rounded square shank; this makes it suitable for wear by a lady, or as a distinctive pinky ring for a gentleman!
This ring is currently a size 5 3/4, but the plainness of the rear of the shank would allow for easy re-sizing by a good bench jeweler for little cost. Weighing in at a substantial 6.52 grams, this is a highly-wearable ring in fantastic condition for its 55-year history! if you love the best in quality mid-century Modern jewelry, this ring belongs on your hand and in your collection! It would also make a stellar holiday gift for any lady or gentleman who loves the best in fine emerald rings, and will be shipped in a gift box. Do not miss this Retro beauty; up to 45-day layaway is available, and USPS Priority mail shipping is FREE!
