Dating to c.1820, this lovely demi-parure is a beautifully-preserved set comprised of earrings and a matching pendant!
Measuring 1 1//8" long from the top of the ear wires x 15 mm wide, for the earrings and 1" long x 15 mm wide for the pendant, this lovely 1820s set epitomizes all that is so wonderful about the jewelry of the Regency era! These jewels boast a rich, robin's egg blue enamel plaques set with marcasites in an abstract floral motif! The earrings and pendant are all set in lovely scrolling, pushed-up, close-backed collets of sterling silver (unmarked but tested)!
Unlike many diminutive parures from this era, this set does not appear to have been made from a larger piece of jewelry; I see no evidence of solder or cut marks anywhere on the three pieces! The ear wires are also hand-wrought, and this demi-parure is just as fresh as the day it was first sported by a lady of fashion when the transition from the Neoclassical fashions of the 1810s were giving way to the Gothic-inspired fashions of the 1820s! All three of the pieces are in fresh-as-a-daisy condition after nearly two centuries, with no damage, replacements, or repairs, and best of all, they are suitable for every day wear by a 21st-century lady!
Weighing in at 7.87 grams for the set, this pretty and feminine Georgian demi-parure looks grand worn with anything from blue jeans to a cocktail dress, and WHAT a history! If you love the finest in Regency-era jewelry, this ultra-wearable set is certain to become a favorite! It would also make a stellar holiday gift for that special lady fond of fine antique jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box. Do not miss this classically elegant survival; up to 30-day layaway is available, and USPS Priority mail shipping is FREE!
