Dating to c.1830-1840, this transitional late Georgian brooch is part of a magnificent high-karat gold and coral cameo demi-parure that I am offering for the first time in my 11+ years as a Platinum Level dealer on Ruby Lane!

This museum-worthy demi-parure consists of earrings, a necklace, and this magnificent brooch! Measuring 1 1/2" wide x 2" long with the drop pendant, this brooch has made it into the 21st century in absolutely MINT condition! The jewelry of the 1830s drew on both Rococo and Gothic design elements, and this necklace combines the influences in the MOST delightful manner! The center of the brooch boasts a small Sardinian coral cameo depicting a classical female bust, which measures 1/2" x 1/4". The cameo is securely set in a golden collet, and is surrounded by a fantasy of repousse Rococo swirls, scallops, and flowers! A short length of chain terminate in a three-dimensional tassel - SO PRETTY!

Best of all, this brooch has made it into the 21st century in as fresh a condition as the most discerning collector could hope for! It is 100% intact, right down to its "T and C" clasp, which protrudes 3/8" past the brooch as a "keeper!" As with the vast majority of jewelry dating to the 1830s, this brooch is hollow-constructed from heavy-gauge 15k gold (unmarked but tested). The repoussee stamped construction is characteristic of the jewelry manufactured in England and France circa 1835, and this brooch has made it through 180 years in untouched condition, without damage, splits, repairs or replacements! This brooch weighs 4.02 grams.

Simply a fabulous example of late Georgian lapidary work, this brooch lights up a lapel or a sweater, and what a history! I will be offering the matching necklace and earrings in separate listings, but should you wish to acquire the set, you can take 10% off the sale price on all three pieces! If you collect the BEST in antique jewelry, this brooch belongs in your collection! They would also make a fabulous gift for any lady fond of the ultimate in antique coral or gold jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box. Do not miss this superb jewel; up to 30-day layaway is available on this item, and USPS Priority mail shipping is FREE!
