Dating to c.1810, this marvelous bracelet has made it into the 21st-century in fresh-as-a-daisy condition, and is a fabulously-wearable classic!
Measuring 7" wearable length, this fantastic English bracelet is set with twelve of the deepest violet Siberian amethyst pastes I have seen in a bracelet of any date; it took close scrutiny under 10x magnification to determine that these were not genuine amethysts! Each gemstone measures 10 mm x 7 mm, and weighs approx. 3 "carats" each, for a total of 36 "carats" for the jewel. These gems really have the look of Siberian amethysts down pat; they even display magenta flashes under bright light! The oval pastes are all mounted into closed-backed, foiled, pushed-up collets of 9k gold with just the right hint of rose in the alloy (gold unmarked but tested). All of the pastes are perfectly matched for color, and best of all, this bracelet has been cherished over the past 200+ years, as it is in 100% all original condition!
As with the best-preserved riviere-style jewels of this era, this bracelet retains its original gold box clasp and hand-cut 9k 'tongue-in-groove" finding, which locks securely. This 205-year-old bracelet really lights up the wrist with an uninterrupted halo of luscious, glittering violet pastes, and it looks just as fresh today as when it was first worn by a lady of wealth and fashion in Regency England! The 9k gold setting is another nod towards high quality, as so many paste jewels of the Regency period were set in gilded base metal - not so with this stunner! These solid 9k mountings are substantial, but as with the best English-made paste jewelry, all one really sees is the dazzling stones! Perhaps best of all, this design is timeless; it is suitable for day or evening wear, and will always be in high style! SO ELEGANT!
Weighing in at 16.78 grams, this is a fantastic example of English Regency jewelry, and is beautifully-constructed, without damage to any of the stones or the setting! If you collect the best in Georgian paste jewelry, this lovely bracelet belongs on your wrist and in your collection! It would also make a stellar gift for any lady fond of the absolute best in historic jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box. Do not miss this vibrant and highly-sought after example; I do not expect to find another anytime soon, up to 60-day layaway is available, and USPS Priority mail shipping is FREE!
