Dating to c.1910, this is one beautiful jeweled Edwardian-era necklace which looks fabulous on the neck, and won't break the bank!
This all-original necklace boasts three large natural amethyst briolette drops, with faceted amethyst and rock crystal elements on both sides! The fancy "paper-clip" style chain is gold filled, and the filigree clasp is silver gilt, and marked "patent."
Measuring 16" wearable length, this necklace is all-original and in near-perfect condition after a century of careful wear. The largest amethyst drop measures 18 mm long (26.5 mm = 1 inch), and weighs approx. 7 carats. The two side amethysts measure 14 mm long, and weigh approx. 5 carats each. The center drop also boasts a faceted rock crystal at the top. All of the amethysts are a rich, natural shade of deep violet, and all are free from damage. The close-up photo of the three drops is highly magnified, and show minuscule wear, but the amethysts show no wear to the eye.
The two jeweled side links measure 7/8" long, and the amethysts are slightly lighter in color than the drops, giving it a very pretty effect! Weighing in at 10.7 grams, this necklace is perfect for day or evening wear, and is SO feminine! The amethyst drops really sparkle and catch the light! The faceted amethysts are quite large, beautifully-cut, and perfectly matched for color. (Remember, these are genuine amethysts, not pastes!)
