A petite French "Bon Bon" or Sauce Dish in Sterling with the interior nicely Gilded.
The maker of this elaborate miniature Footed Dish in the Louis XV Style, was the renowned Parisian Silversmith "Cardeilhac", during the 1880's.
With very fine Repoussed Floral Decor on both sides of the Body and quite unique and elaborate Handles on each side, that terminate with "Mistletoe" Leaves and a "Shell" form at the top. The Scrolled Feet keep it standing above the table very nicely.
The Hallmark of Cardeilhac is stamped on the bottom, and the "Minerva Head" for silver guarantee is stamped just underneath the rolled Rim. The size of the Dish from Handle to Handle is approx. 5.75"...the width is approx. 3" and the height is approx. 2".
The condition is Excellent...A very unique piece of Cardeilhac Sterling from the Victorian Period and a unique Size!!
