A very Rare and Outstanding Pair of Amphora Form Vases designed by "Louis Constant Sevin", the Master Designer for Ferdinand Barbedienne - Paris 1870-1880.
The Vases each feature 3 Ormolu Bronze Putti on a stepped Onyx Base, who support handled Amphora Form Vases in Champleve Enamel. They both retain their original Blown and Engraved Glass Vase inserts.
Each Vase is approx. 10" tall....they are both in Excellent Original condition...including the Glass inserts! (We also have listed a small Pair of Vases by the same Designer that would go well with these Vases, also in Excellent Condition.)
It has been discovered that "Sevin" was responsible for the design of the finest objects produced by Barbedienne during that Period of work in Paris....many of his items exhibited at International Fairs. (we have extensive reference materials on the designer we can provide)
We know of only one other Pair of these Vases extant, which were sold on March 19,2008 at Christies London, King Street Sale #7569....realizing a price of $16,348 USD.
A Beautiful and Rare Pair of Vases for your collection....
