This is quite a Rare French "Directoire" Period Tea Cady Spoon, made of "Blonde" Steer Horn, and hand carved CA.1790's.

Featuring the Classical Directoire Shield at the Handle of the Spoon and a Shell Carved Bowl below. The size of this Spoon is approx. 3"long x 1.5" across the bowl, and it is in Excellent condition considering its age and use!!

This Caddy Spoon form can be found in Silver, Pewter, Porcelain, and even Glass, but is quite rare in Steer Horn of a Blonde shade. The Directoire Period was very short - 1795-1799 - but the Style was very popular in France, and then closely followed by the Empire Period.

A very unique item for your "Tea" Collection....
