This very unique "Caged Crystal Perfume Bottle" is suspended on a Chain with a Ring for inclusion on a Chatelaine or Purse.
The Metal Cage and Chain themselves are unmarked, but in the interior of the Lid, under a Glass protector that seals the Bottle, there is the Name "Hancock & Sons", a firm that was founded in London in 1849, and produced many Sterling items, including jewelry and chatelaine items. All of the metal cleans like Sterling!!
The size of the bottle itself is approx. 2.75" tall...the Silver lid is on a tight spring type enclosure, with the press of a fingernail against what looks like a small screw head, it pops open...there was never a glass "stopper" in this specially patented enclosure, with the flat glass interior of the lid on a "Spring" mount that thoroughly seals the Bottle from leaking!! Very involved and ingenious!! I have never seen this type of lid before??
The Glass of the bottle is in very nice condition, with only a petite scratch on the one shoulder...the Silver is in Excellent condition...I don't think this Perfume every was used!!
A unique petite Perfume for your collection....
