This is another interesting 19th Century French Cast Bronze Figural Dagger, with an Egyptian Woman as the Hilt and a Singled Edged Steel Blade.
The Egyptian Revival Hilt might portray a female Pharoah or Goddess, with a Panel of Hyroglyphs in front of her. The Cross Guard has curious "Sphinx Heads" on the Terminals. She has been polished for many decades and high points are a bit "soft"
The total length of the Dagger is 9.25" and the Blade itself is 5.5". The Blade has been well used, with evidence of early sharpening, with a bit of a blunt point on this "Drop Edge" model, and possibly a stamp of the maker near the Hilt, but is indiscernible. There is no Scabbard or Sheath with this Dagger.
Please review the other "Figural Daggers" I am listing today.....a fine addition to your collections.....
