This is an exceptional Boch Freres Vase, made under the direction of "Charles Catteau"...its beautiful color is known as "Egyptian Blue", and has a very fine "craqueleure" finish. Mounted with silvered Bronze Metal in a dramatic Art Deco design.
The size of the vase is approx. 7"tall x 9"diameter. The underside is numbered (see Photo) and appears to be "1027", and has a slightly faded Boch Stamped Mark in black. The Vase is in Excellent Condition...any "white areas" are only light reflections!
This is very handsome in a pure Art Deco squat stepped form......another Vase in this Boch line is #1051, and is known to date from 1925, the year of the Paris Expo and the founding point of the Art Deco Style.
This Vase mimics the colors of the Faience Figures in Blue that had been discovered in the Egyptian archeological digs of Howard Carter, in the 1920's, and the Stepped form reminds us of the Pyramids!
I have listed this Vase and a Companion Boch Vase in Egyptian Blue....both excellent museum quality examples of this Art Deco Period for "Boch", under its highly noted designer Charles Catteau.
It is Rare and in Excellent Condition....a fabulous item for your collection!!
