This is an exceptional Boch Freres Vase, made under the direction of "Charles Catteau"...its beautiful color is known as "Egyptian Blue", and has a very fine "craqueleure" finish. Mounted with silvered Bronze Metal in a dramatic Art Deco design.
The size of the vase is approx. 11"tall x 7"diameter. The underside is numbered (see Photo) and appears to be "1078", but is partially covered by a Retailer's paper label....there is also the "shadow" of the round Boch Stamp, which was somewhat obliterated during firing (see the other Boch Vase in Blue I have listed for a clearer version of this Boch mark). Any "white areas" in the photos is just reflective light !!
This 8 sided faceted shape is very handsome in a pure Art Deco manner...another Vase in this Boch line is #1051, and is known to date from 1925, the year of the Paris Expo and the founding point of the Art Deco Style.
This Vase blends the colors that had been discovered in the Egyptian archeological digs of Howard Carter with the newest fashionable Art Deco forms.
I have listed this Vase and a Companion Boch Vase in Egyptian Blue....excellent museum quality examples of this Art Deco Period for "Boch", under its highly noted designer Charles Catteau.
It is Rare and in Excellent Condition....a fabulous item for your collection!!
