This is a fabulous and Rare Pair of French Altar Candlesticks, in Silvered Bronze, produced in Paris CA.1930-1940's. "Neo Gothic" in a very Moderne design that is almost Machine Age...with open sections in the Shaft, and a large Candle Cup and Pricket for a very large diameter Candle. Although they have a Cross inset on one side of the Base, they could be turned for that surface to face the back, in a non religious setting.
The Candlesticks are approx. 13" tall and in excellent condition....there is a very tiny hallmark on the side of the rectangular Base that seems to be "PN", possibly Pierre Nissen, who had an Atelier in Paris producing Religious items for the Church, in that time period.
A very Moderne pair for your collection and use......we have never come across another pair such as these....the price is for the pair.
