The Serving pieces are exceptionally handsome....the Knife blades are silvered in the French Manner. The set is in excellent condition overall. (I can provide more photographs as I was limited to only 9 photos)...I don't believe it was used very much at all.
This particular Model was produced by several silversmiths in the 19th Century, including Odiot, & Pierre Queille' (1840), but sets rarely come to the market. We have found only 2 of these sets sold in the last 30 years, one in 1998 and one in 2014, each set a bit larger, but both selling in the $50,000. range!!
Our price includes a handsome contemporary silver chest in wood with brass fittings, with lock & key. Because of the size and weight, we would ship the silver chest in a separate box. (Please check with me on the shipping and insurance charges to your address.)
This is a very Handsome Flatware Service and will make a wonderful statement at your next "French Empire" Dinner Party.....
